History of Mickey Owen Baseball School Cabins

Mickey Owen Baseball School, established in 1959, is rich in history and tradition. What began as a place for young athletes to learn the game has grown into a legacy filled with memories that span generations.

Today, that history lives on through our Route 66 cabin rentals. Nestled on the original campgrounds, our 18 cabins have been thoughtfully restored to preserve their authentic charm while offering modern comfort. Each cabin tells a story. From the original bathroom doors - once the exterior entrance to the cabins - to photos of campers and pieces of history found on the walls, every detail has been intentionally preserved. The original green window shutters, once part of the cabin's exterior, have been repurposed into unique interior decor, blending past and present in a meaningful way.

The true highlight of these cabins, however, is found above.

Generations of campers signed the wooden ceiling beams during their stays, leaving behind names, dates, and memories made with teammates and lifelong friends. These cabins have held household names, including Michael Jordan, Joe Girardi, and Charlie Sheen, along with many other remarkable individuals - making each signature a lasting piece of history.

The rich history of the Mickey Owen Baseball School lives on in every cabin - preserved, celebrated, and ready to be experienced for years to come.
